Oops

Ok so I haven't posted in a wee bit but here I am. Yesterday we finally got notion that Lil dirty pants might be suffering from Aspergers Syndrome. I have yet to get an official diagnosis but I am really hoping that would be it. For a 5 year old boy it's just so much more than him being just hyper and difficult. He has severe issues with social places and things, anxiety, emotions and many other things as well and the more I look into Aspergers, the more confident I am that this is our next challenge in life.

Lil dirty pants life has been a challenge since the day he was born but all that ever did was make him even more lovable. With his challenges come great things within our family unit that we might only be able to see and we love that. We love that this is his comfort zone and this is where he tends to excel at things. It's because he feels safe. To know that makes my heart warm and fuzzy. Mr Shiny pants and I have tried so very hard at everything to try and make some strides with Lil dirty pants but we feel as if we're stuck in ice and we just keep spinning. Yesterday, I felt us move a little and I cannot wait to stop the spin completely.

Other than Lil dirty pants we've been having some super fun times with miss glitter pants in the evening. She is starting to notice some extra attention given to her brother these past few days as we all try to figure this out so we make her some special time now. Usually it involves a lot of laughs and some TV game shows to make us a little smarter. Last night I was laughing so hard and she was laughing right back at me. She then commented I never laugh that hard and she's right. I spend so much time taking care of everyone else that life's not really funny that much, or I'm just to tired to actually engage in something that might be. But I'm really going to try harder to laugh, if it really is the best medicine, then I'll try it. And I guess my miss glitter pants will be a part of it and she can join in too.
